Joint Operation Leads to Arrest of Lion's Skin Traffickers in Chimoio

On February 8, 2023, in the province of Manica, in the city of Chimoio, at the Amirana Hotel, a significant operation unfolded. It led to the apprehension of three individuals who were attempting to sell a prohibited and protected species product: a lion’s skin.

This successful operation was a collaborative effort between the MWA, ANAC and the SERNIC. Thanks to their cooperation, the three traffickers involved in this illegal activity were apprehended and brought to justice. This operation serves as a testament to the importance of protecting endangered species and upholding the law to prevent their exploitation.
